He married Þórunn Snorradóttir about 1904, in Iceland. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 5 daughters. He lived in Vestmannaeyjar, Vestmannaeyjabær, Suðurland, Iceland in 1920. He died on 23 September 1954, in Iceland, at the age of 75.
