When Asa Merrill Robinson was born on 19 January 1821, in Pembroke, Merrimack, New Hampshire, United States, his father, Jonathan Robinson, was 35 and his mother, Lucy Dunton, was 30. He married Lucy Ann Hanscom on 1 August 1848, in North Berwick, York, Maine, United States. He died on 9 March 1879, at the age of 58.

1825 · The Crimes Act

The Crimes Act was made to provide a clearer punishment of certain crimes against the United States. Part of it includes: Changing the maximum sentence of imprisonment to be increased from seven to ten years and changing the maximum fine from $5,000 to $10,000.

In 1833, the oldest tax-supported public library in the world was established by Reverend Abiel Abbot.
