He married Frances Slaughter on 1 January 1838, in Putnam, Georgia, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in Monroe, Georgia, United States in 1850 and District 482, Bibb, Georgia, United States in 1880. He died in 1895, at the age of 77.
