1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.

Clearcreek Township is located in north-central Warren County. The Township is bounded by Montgomery County on the north, Wayne Township on the east, Turtlecreek Township on the south and Franklin Township on the west. It was created in October, 1815 from portions of Franklin and Wayne Townships, two of the original four such political subdivisions in Warren County.

1825 · The Crimes Act

The Crimes Act was made to provide a clearer punishment of certain crimes against the United States. Part of it includes: Changing the maximum sentence of imprisonment to be increased from seven to ten years and changing the maximum fine from $5,000 to $10,000.

Name Meaning

English: habitational name from Throckmorton in Worcestershire, which is named with Old English throc ‘beam bridge’ + mere ‘pool’ + tūn ‘enclosure, settlement’.

History: The Throckmorton family was powerful and influential in England in Tudor times, but has since almost died out there. American bearers of the name trace their descent from either John Throckmorton (1601–1684) of New England or Robert Throckmorton (1609–1663) of VA.
