When Dorothy Elizabeth Windecker was born in 1763, in Bertie, Welland, Canada West, British North America, her father, Henry Windecker, was 26 and her mother, Dorothy Pickard, was 20. She married Sgt Daniel Young Sr. in 1781, in Niagara, Canada West, British North America. They were the parents of at least 9 sons and 4 daughters. She died on 5 March 1829, in Barton, Wentworth, Upper Canada, British North America, at the age of 66.
