Karen Nielsdatter Leed was born on 2 February 1832, in Ørding, Morsø Sønder, Thisted, Denmark as the daughter of Niels Pedersen Leed and Marthe Sorensdatter. She married Niels Christian Eskesen on 25 November 1853, in Ørding, Dueholm, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 7 daughters. She died on 17 March 1903, in Nykøbing Morsø, Thisted, Viborg, Denmark, at the age of 71, and was buried in Nykøbing Morsø, Thisted, Viborg, Denmark.

The Casino Theatre was built as an entertainment center by Georg Carstensen but was converted into a theatre in 1848. After many years of never gaining popularity, it was closed in 1937 and demolished in 1960.
