When Margrette Tronsdatter was born on 26 January 1814, in Nes, Buskerud, Norway, her father, Tron Olsen, was 21 and her mother, Ingeborg Iversdatter, was 38. She married Johannes Hansen Sr. on 22 August 1834, in Vestre Aker, Kristiania, Norway. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 3 daughters. She died on 16 April 1855, in Oslo, Norway, at the age of 41, and was buried in Østre Aker, Kristiania, Norway.
