He married Magrethe Christensdatter Søgaard on 16 October 1692, in Sønder Nissum, Ulfborg, Ringkøbing, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 29 April 1745, in his hometown, at the age of 83, and was buried in Sønder Nissum, Ulfborg, Ringkøbing, Denmark.
