He married Ane Christiansdatter in 1845, in Brønderslev, Vester Brønderslev, Børglum, Hjørring, Denmark. He lived in Sennels, Hillerslev, Thisted, Denmark in 1834. He died on 17 February 1861, in Malle, Sennels, Hillerslev, Thisted, Denmark, at the age of 43, and was buried in Sennels, Hillerslev, Thisted, Denmark.
