When Jonathan Janney was born on 20 March 1785, in Loudoun, Virginia, United States, his father, Israel Janney, was 32 and his mother, Anne Plummer, was 31. He married Elizabeth McPherson on 16 May 1810, in Baltimore, Baltimore, Maryland, United States. They were the parents of at least 24 sons and 5 daughters. He died on 25 January 1838, at the age of 52.

Caused by war veteran Daniel Shays, Shays' Rebellion was to protest economic and civil rights injustices that he and other farmers were seeing after the Revolutionary War. Because of the Rebellion it opened the eyes of the governing officials that the Articles of Confederation needed a reform. The Rebellion served as a guardrail when helping reform the United States Constitution.
On June 25, 1788 Virginia became the 10th state.
While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.
