When Charlotte Elizabeth Maltby was born on 5 October 1845, in Colombo, Western, Sri Lanka, her father, Edward Maltby, was 34 and her mother, Susannah White, was 32. She married Elias Le Boutillier in Waikaraka, Whangarei, New Zealand. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. She died on 18 November 1923, in Onerahi, Whangarei, New Zealand, at the age of 78.

1846 · The First Constitution Act

The New Zealand Constitution Act was passed to grant self-government of the Colony of New Zealand, but it was never fully implemented. This act was a part of the New Zealand constitution until it was repealed in 1852 with a updated New Zealand Constitution Act. 

1858 · New Provinces Act

The New Provinces Act was established to help create new Provinces in the quickly growing region of New Zealand. This Act also helped kept laws in check as well as create Provincial Councils to help govern over the people within the areas.

1887 · New Zealands's First National Park

Tongariro National Park was the sixth national park established in the world and the first in New Zealand. In the center of the park there lies three active volcanic mountains (Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe, and Tongariro). it is home to the famed Tongariro Alpine Crossing day hike and has been recognized as a World Heritage Site for all its natural values.

English: habitational name from either of two places called Maltby (South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire) or Maltby le Marsh (Lincolnshire); possibly occasionally from Maltby (North Yorkshire) or Mautby (Norfolk). The placenames derive from the Old Norse personal name Malti + Old Norse ‘farmstead, village’.
