He married Rhoda Mott on 25 September 1783, in Great Nine Partners, Dutchess, New York, United States. They were the parents of at least 9 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 22 November 1829, in his hometown, at the age of 67, and was buried in Nine Partners Cemetery, Millbrook, Washington, Dutchess, New York, United States.
