He lived in Ontario, Ontario, Canada in 1834 and DeKalb, Illinois, United States in 1841. He died on 5 May 1858, in Mayfield Township, DeKalb, Illinois, United States, at the age of 71, and was buried in South Grove Cemetery, South Grove Township, DeKalb, Illinois, United States.
