Anders Jahnsson was born on 2 June 1820, in Holmedal, Värmland, Sweden as the son of Jahn Andersen and Kjerstin Persdatter. He married Anne Gulbrandsdatter on 5 January 1854. They were the parents of at least 3 daughters. He died on 23 November 1894, in Østerud, Fiskum, Øvre Eiker, Buskerud, Norway, at the age of 74.
