When Maria Rempel was born on 26 October 1819, in Margenau, Omsk Oblast, Russia, Soviet Union, her father, Abraham Bernhard Rempel, was 21 and her mother, Maria Hamm, was 24. She married Cornelius F Friesen on 21 March 1840, in Margenau, Ukraine, Soviet Union. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 9 daughters. She died on 22 December 1897, in Manitoba, Canada, at the age of 78.
