English: variant of Kellogg .
English: probably from the Middle English female personal name Ketelog, Kellok (Old Norse Ketillaug, from ketill ‘sacrificial cauldron, helmet’ + laug ‘(hot) spring, cauldron)’. It could alternatively represent the Old Norse male name Kiallakr, a borrowing of Old Irish Cellach (see Kelly ), but this Hiberno-Norse name is not recorded as a personal name anywhere in medieval England.
