When Catharina Witzig was born on 6 December 1775, in Laufen-Uhwiesen, Zürich, Switzerland, her father, Conrad Witzig, was 31 and her mother, Magdalena Witzig, was 24. She married Heinrich W Spiess in 1819. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. She died on 16 December 1823, in her hometown, at the age of 48.
