1825 · The Crimes Act

The Crimes Act was made to provide a clearer punishment of certain crimes against the United States. Part of it includes: Changing the maximum sentence of imprisonment to be increased from seven to ten years and changing the maximum fine from $5,000 to $10,000.

1830 · Louisville and Portland Canal Opens

The Louisville and Portland canal opened in 1830. It was a 2 mile canal. It helped with the barrier caused by the Falls of the Ohio River at Louisville by making a route around them.

The Latinized name Gervasius was borne by a Christian saint, martyred under the Roman Emperor Domitian, who became one of the patrons of Milan.

English: in Yorkshire, sometimes a habitational name from Jervaulx in East Witton (North Yorkshire). The place takes its name from the river Ure + Old French val, vals ‘valley’.
