When Gunhild Thorsdatter was born on 27 March 1792, in Gjerpen, Telemark, Norway, her father, Thore Halvorsen, was 38 and her mother, Kari Perdatter, was 43. She married Hans Stromdal Christiansen in 1816. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 4 daughters. She died on 3 February 1837, at the age of 44.
