When Jane Hulsey was born in 1821, in Hall, Georgia, United States, her father, Briant B. Dempsey Hulsey, was 33 and her mother, Martha Thomas, was 29. She married Wilkins Guy on 11 February 1840, in Sumner, Tennessee, United States. She lived in Davidson, Tennessee, United States in 1850 and Simpson, Kentucky, United States in 1860. She died after 21 June 1860.

1821 · Financial Relief for Public Land

A United States law to provide financial relief for the purchasers of Public Lands. It permitted the earlier buyers, that couldn't pay completely for the land, to return the land back to the government. This granted them a credit towards the debt they had on land. Congress, also, extended credit to buyer for eight more years. Still while being in economic panic and the shortage of currency made by citizens, the government hoped that with the time extension, the economy would improve.

1830 · Louisville and Portland Canal Opens

The Louisville and Portland canal opened in 1830. It was a 2 mile canal. It helped with the barrier caused by the Falls of the Ohio River at Louisville by making a route around them.
