When Anthony Hinkle was born on 30 November 1754, in Germantown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, British Colonial America, his father, Johannes Justus Heinkel, was 21 and his mother, Anna Elizabeth Levering, was 21. He married Salome Lechner about 1780, in Hanover Township, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 7 daughters. He registered for military service in 1779. He died on 8 February 1838, in Hanover, York, Pennsylvania, United States, at the age of 83, and was buried in York, Pennsylvania, United States.

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.
