He married Salome Lechner about 1780, in Hanover Township, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 7 daughters. He registered for military service in 1779. He died on 8 February 1838, in Hanover, York, Pennsylvania, United States, at the age of 83, and was buried in York, Pennsylvania, United States.
