When Barbara Wyss was born on 15 October 1693, in Oberdiessbach, Bern, Switzerland, her father, Peter Wyss, was 42 and her mother, Catharina Bachmann, was 38. She married Ulrich Widmer on 6 June 1711, in Oberdiessbach, Bern, Switzerland. She died on 4 January 1760, at the age of 66.
