When Johannes Veit was born on 17 June 1664, in Württemberg, Germany, his father, Daniel Veit, was 25 and his mother, Katharina Osswald, was 34. He married Barbara Rathgeb on 28 February 1693, in Riederich, Reutlingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 4 July 1720, in his hometown, at the age of 56.
