When John ( Codd) Code was born on 20 September 1823, in Carnew, County Wicklow, Ireland, his father, Joseph Codd, was 25 and his mother, Rachel Codd, was 25. He married Sarah Code on 21 February 1861, in Lanark, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He immigrated to Canada in 1851. He died on 12 March 1890, in North Elmsley Township, Lanark, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 66, and was buried in Saint John's Anglican Cemetery, Innisville, Drummond North Elmsley, Lanark, Ontario, Canada.
