When Hans Jacob Huber was born on 28 February 1741, in Sulgen, Thurgau, Switzerland, his father, Hans Konrad Huber, was 39 and his mother, Elisabeth Fisch, was 31. He married Anna Barbara Hälg on 18 February 1772. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 5 daughters. He died on 18 March 1811, at the age of 70, and was buried in Sulgen, Thurgau, Switzerland.
