He married Eufrosyne Lillia af Aspenäs about 1650, in Älvsborg, Sweden. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 12 April 1664, in Hössna, Västra Götaland, Sweden, at the age of 46.

from Old Norse Knútr ‘knot’, originally a byname given to a short, squat man. King Knut ( d. 1035 ) ruled over Denmark, Norway, and England in the 11th century; he is known in English as Canute. His great-nephew Knut ( d. 1086 ) was another king of Denmark; he was murdered by opponents of the laws enforcing payment of tithes to the Church and was canonized as a martyr. His nephew, also Knut ( d. 1131 ), was Duke of Schleswig and is also venerated as a martyr, although for what reason is not clear.
