When Asa Morse was born on 30 December 1748, in Walpole, Suffolk, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America, his father, Obadiah Morse, was 50 and his mother, Bethiah Ruggles, was 42. He married Eunice Parker on 9 June 1772, in Newton, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 1 March 1815, in Sturbridge, Worcester, Massachusetts, United States, at the age of 66.

With no opposing votes, the Declaration of Independence was drafted and ready for all delegates to sign on the Fourth of July 1776.
