Marie Claudine Berthod was born on 1 October 1780, in Cluses, Haute-Savoie, France as the daughter of Jean Berthod and Peronne Maniguet. She married Marie Michel Laporte on 9 April 1808, in Cluses, Haute-Savoie, France. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 3 daughters. She died on 5 May 1819, in her hometown, at the age of 38.
