When Nils Hansson was born on 13 June 1753, in Sankt Peters Kloster, Torna härad, Malmöhus, Sweden, his father, Hans Stephansson, was 37 and his mother, Hanna Jonsson, was 33. He married Kjerstina Jonsson on 15 May 1780, in Malmöhus, Sweden. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 6 daughters. He died on 27 February 1820, in Södervidinge, Harjager, Malmöhus, Sweden, at the age of 66.
