When Jakob Friedrich Sessing was born on 28 May 1802, in Steinbach, Erbach, Grand Duchy of Hesse, his father, Samuel Friedrich Sessing, was 35 and his mother, Caroline Christine Wilhelmine Staude, was 25. He married Tabita Beata Charlotta Gruner on 31 August 1829, in Calw, Württemberg, Germany. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 17 September 1856, in London, England, United Kingdom, at the age of 54.
