When Herménégilde Morency was born on 29 July 1825, in Trois-Pistoles, Témiscouata, Quebec, Canada, his father, Joseph Baucher Morency, was 25 and his mother, Charlotte Ouellet, was 27. He married Angèle Dubé on 25 November 1845, in Saint-Jean-Baptiste-de-L'Isle-Verte, Témiscouata, Quebec, Canada. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Saint-Éloi, Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec, Canada in 1861. He died in 1914, in Salem, Essex, Massachusetts, United States, at the age of 89.

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations.
