Karen Pedersdatter was born in 1697, in Sorø, Denmark as the daughter of Peder Rasmussen and Else Jensdatter. She married Tonne Nielsen on 22 October 1724, in Store Tåstrup, Holbæk, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 3 daughters. She died in 1788, at the age of 91.
