He married Mary Ann Amelia Studdard on 30 March 1853, in Alabama, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Jefferson Township, Jefferson, Arkansas, United States in 1870 and Whiteville Township, Jefferson, Arkansas, United States in 1880. He died on 11 June 1897, in Jefferson, Arkansas, United States, at the age of 72, and was buried in Mount Zion Cemetery, Dardanelle, Yell, Arkansas, United States.
