    History: William McKinley (1843–1901), 25th US president, was born at Niles, OH, a descendant of David McKinley, known as ‘David the Weaver’, of Scotch–Irish stock, who settled in York County, PA, c. 1743. William McKinley's family were iron founders who tracked the ore from the Susquehanna Valley in PA to Columbiana County, OH.
