When Elijah Spear was born on 22 June 1755, in Suffield, Hartford, Connecticut Colony, British Colonial America, his father, Moses Spear Sr, was 34 and his mother, Submit Hastings, was 27. He married Lydia Kent about 1779. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 3 daughters. He died about 1839, in Yorkshire, Cattaraugus, New York, United States, at the age of 85.
