Robert Cocking Roberts was born on 26 January 1789, in Headon, Nottinghamshire, England, United Kingdom as the son of William Cocken and Ann Joaquina Roza. He married Mary Ann Chatterton on 24 June 1834, in St Marylebone, London, England, United Kingdom. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 8 daughters. He died on 7 November 1871, in Windellama, New South Wales, Australia, at the age of 82, and was buried in Bronte, New South Wales, Australia.
