He married Laura Bell Matthews on 16 February 1890, in Nacogdoches Land District, Texas, United States. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Hot Springs, Garland, Arkansas, United States for about 15 years and Hot Springs Township, Garland, Arkansas, United States in 1940. He died on 21 September 1954, in Channelview, Harris, Texas, United States, at the age of 86, and was buried in Morning Star Cemetery, Hot Springs, Garland, Arkansas, United States.

1894 · Texas Files Lawsuit Against Standard Oil Company
Under the direction of Governor Jim Hogg, Texas filed a lawsuit against John D. Rockefeller for violating state monopoly laws. Hogg argued that Standard Oil Company and Water-Piece Oil Company of Missouri were engaged in illegal practices like price fixing, rebates, and consolidation. Rockefeller was indicted, but never tried in a court of law; other employees of his company were convicted as guilty.
Name Meaning
English: habitational name from one or more places called with Old Norse skáli ‘temporary shelter’ + horn ‘horn-shaped piece of land’, such as Skeleron in Rimington (Lancashire, formerly Yorkshire). Skellorn Green in Adlington (Cheshire) may be an alternative source, although it is only recorded from the 19th century and may have taken its name from the family.
