When Moses Eastman was born on 14 March 1803, in Canaan, Grafton, New Hampshire, United States, his father, Phineas E. Eastman, was 31 and his mother, Susannah Cogswell, was 28. He married Adeline Turner Morgan on 12 November 1835, in St. Tammany, Louisiana, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in Orleans, Louisiana, United States in 1860 and Louisiana, United States in 1870. He died on 10 August 1876, at the age of 73.

1807 · Louisiana is Divided into 19 Parishes

1808 · Concord Becomes the Capital

In 1808, Concord became the capital of New Hampshire. It was originally the Penacook Plantation given to the state by the Massachusetts Bay Colony. 

1825 · The Crimes Act

The Crimes Act was made to provide a clearer punishment of certain crimes against the United States. Part of it includes: Changing the maximum sentence of imprisonment to be increased from seven to ten years and changing the maximum fine from $5,000 to $10,000.
