When Katherine Hussong was born in 1795, in Kassel, Hesse-Nassau, Prussia, Germany, her father, Georg Wilhelm Hussong, was 37 and her mother, Eva Maria Magdalena Gentes, was 29. She married Jonas Ruthrauff on 10 January 1811, in Hagerstown, Washington, Maryland, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 7 daughters. She died on 5 September 1885, in Pennsylvania, United States, at the age of 90.
