He married Maria Svensdotter on 27 October 1822, in Kila, Värmland, Sweden. They were the parents of at least 3 daughters. He lived in Botilsäter, Värmland, Sweden in 1896. He died in 1864, in Kila, Värmland, Sweden, at the age of 72.
