When William Seaman was born on 11 November 1820, in Aldringham, Suffolk, England, his father, William Seaman, was 28 and his mother, Hephzibah Chaman Wells, was 21. He married Elizabeth Matthews on 22 July 1852, in Prince Edward Island, Canada. He died on 13 October 1856, at the age of 35.
