He married Susanna Sawyer on 1 September 1803, in Watertown, Jefferson, New York, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 6 May 1842, at the age of 62, and was buried in Brookside Cemetery, Watertown, Jefferson, New York, United States.
