When Verena Burri was born on 19 October 1792, in Bern, Switzerland, her father, Bendicht Burri, was 45 and her mother, Verena Kurtz, was 44. She married Niklaus Schmutz in 1813, in Lützelflüh, Bern, Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 5 daughters. She died on 9 March 1849, in Vechigen, Bern, Switzerland, at the age of 56.
