When Geert Reinders Boven was born in 1765, in Midwolda, Groningen, Netherlands, his father, Reinder Ailkes Boven, was 35 and his mother, Hendrikje Everts, was 36. He married Grietje Alberts Kloosterboer on 3 May 1801, in Oostwold, Leek, Groningen, Netherlands. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 5 daughters. He died on 19 May 1843, in his hometown, at the age of 78.
