When Hulda S. Huckins was born on 31 August 1827, in Bridgewater, Grafton, New Hampshire, United States, her father, Jacob O. Huckins, was 21 and her mother, Mariam Smith, was 25. She married Ethan Nichols Miner in July 1847. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 7 daughters. She died on 19 February 1894, in Peacham, Caledonia, Vermont, United States, at the age of 66, and was buried in Vermont, United States.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.

1834 · Vermont Anti-Slavery Society is Formed

The Anti-Slavery Society of Vermont was established in 1834. 100 people from different towns were at the first meeting, with the intent to abolish slavery.
