When Hans Martin Kieffer was born on 2 February 1736, in Blankenloch, Karlsruhe, Baden, his father, Hans Valentin Kieffer, was 45 and his mother, Anna Barbara Stober, was 23. He married Maria Elizabetha Meyer on 19 April 1757, in Lebanon Township, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, British Colonial America. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 7 daughters. He died on 23 October 1809, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, United States, at the age of 73.
