He married Eva Maria Lipponer on 8 May 1833, in Schönau, Amt Heidelberg, Baden. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Schönau, Amt Heidelberg, Baden in 1808. He died on 16 August 1880, at the age of 73.
