When Susanna Barbara Hagmann was born on 22 November 1827, in Sevelen, Sankt Gallen, Switzerland, her father, Mathias Hagmann, was 27 and her mother, Ursula Litscher, was 28. She married Johann Thomas Kuhn on 11 May 1847, in Lütisburg, Sankt Gallen, Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 6 daughters. She died in 1899, in Switzerland, at the age of 72.
