When Francis Caughey was born in 1728, in County Donegal, Ireland, his father, John W Caughey, was 25 and his mother, Ann Elizabeth Key, was 25. He married Jean Scott about 1749, in Ireland. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 3 daughters. He died in 1811, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States, at the age of 83.
