When Isaac Chaffee was born on 23 December 1768, in Woodstock, Windham, Connecticut, United States, his father, Samuel Chaffee, was 45 and his mother, Susanna Lyon, was 45. He married Mary Burnside on 12 October 1796. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 8 March 1835, at the age of 66.

1781 · British Forces Capture Fort Griswold

The capture of Fort Griswold was the final act of treason that Benedict Arnold committed. This would be a British victory. On the American side 85 were killed, 35 wounded and paroled, 28 taken prisoner, 13 escaped, and 1 twelve year old was captured and released.

1786 · Shays' Rebellion

Caused by war veteran Daniel Shays, Shays' Rebellion was to protest economic and civil rights injustices that he and other farmers were seeing after the Revolutionary War. Because of the Rebellion it opened the eyes of the governing officials that the Articles of Confederation needed a reform. The Rebellion served as a guardrail when helping reform the United States Constitution.
